1. Learn a new skill
Learning new skills can not only be practical, but profitable. Do you enjoy crafts such as cross-stitching or building furniture? You can make wonderful, heartfelt gifts for loved ones or you can sell your creations on Etsy.
Other skills such as cooking and writing can be used to wow a significant other or be taught through online courses or ebooks. There are so many skills to pick from and each can benefit you in new ways.
2. Educate yourself on something that interests you
In high school, we had to take a certain set of courses to graduate, no matter how much we didn’t like them. The perks of being out of high school, is that now we get to choose our own classes.
If you’re interested in nutrition for example, websites such as Udemy that host a wide array of topics have something for a manageable cost for you. Alternatively, you can check your local community college for courses or look for graduate certificate programs. Cheapest option is watching YouTube videos made by experts.
3. Attend workshops and conferences
Workshops and conferences are great resources for personal and professional development. And often, employers will pay for you to attend if it is in your career field. These are also amazing networking opportunities where you can meet professional contacts, friends, and new job openings.
4. Invest in your health
The best medicine is preventative medicine. What we consume and how we move our body will help us live longer, higher quality lives. Fast food is the easy and sometimes cheaper option in the moment, but it will not help us in the long run and is not sustainable.
Combine this with learning a new skill investment to learn how to cook healthy, delicious food at home. Hire a personal trainer or watch personal trainer videos on YouTube to move your body consistently. The benefits of investing in your health can be a whole book (which I’m sure exists) and is something we should regularly be reminded of.
5. Hire a personal coach
Personal coaches can help you see things in new ways and create a path with you that will help you become your best self. These coaches can specialize in a variety of areas of life, such as personal development, relationship, career development, parenting, etc.
If you’re looking to make a change to create a life that makes you excited to get out of bed every morning and take on the world, a coach can help you get there. A great thing is that you can hire them for one session, three sessions, or any other specified amount of time. You get to decide what works for you.
The one investment you will NEVER regret is investing in yourself! You are worth the time, money, and energy. You will not only improve your life, but the lives of those around you and beyond. You do not serve the world by making yourself small. You serve it by being the best you, you can be because you’re the only one.
